Updating the Operating Panel support applications (Mk2)

For the Operating Panel to communicate with the Processor Unit, certain interface applications are required.

The Operating Panel is installed as specified in the Installation manual. The Processor Unit is turned on. The following specific items are required for this task:

  • Personal computer

  • USB flash drive

  • Computer mouse (Optional)

  • Computer keyboard (Optional)

Neither tools nor instruments are required. This procedure is made for the Microsoft® Windows® 10 operating system. It is assumed that you are familiar with this operating system.

The following applications are used:

  • HIDS

  • MSS

  • SPS

  • vJoy Device Driver

Refer to the Software changes chapter in the software release note to see which applications that needs to be updated.

  1. On the personal computer:
    1. Download the new software version.
    2. Unpack the ZIP file to access the executable application file.
    3. Copy the application file to a USB flash drive.
  2. Make the following preparations.
    1. If applicable: Connect the keyboard and the mouse to USB sockets on the Processor Unit.
    2. Insert the USB flash drive.
  3. Select Power Off on the top bar.
  4. In the Power Off dialog box, select Exit to Operating System to close the MF90 program.
  5. Uninstall the application.
    1. From the Start button in the lower left corner, open the Control Panel.
    2. In the Control Panel, select App.
    3. Select Programs and Features.
    4. On the list provided, locate the software you shall uninstall.

      Refer to the Software changes chapter in the software release note to see which applications that needs to be updated.

    5. Select it, then select Uninstall.
    6. Click the [X] in the top right corner to close the Control Panel.
  6. Install the new version of the application.
    1. From the Windows® Start button, right-click to open File Explorer.
    2. Locate the executable setup file (.exe).

      Refer to the Software changes chapter in the software release note to see which applications that needs to be updated.

    3. Copy the file to a temporary folder on the "C" drive.
    4. Double-click on the file to install the new version of thew application.
    5. Close File Explorer.
    6. Remove the USB flash drive.
  7. On the Processor Unit desktop, double-click the MF90 icon to start the program.
  8. If applicable: Disconnect the keyboard and the mouse from the Processor Unit.
