Recording processed data
The Record Processed function provided by the ST90 system allows you to save processed data on a selected format. The data files can be copied or moved to an external storage device, or to another computer on the network. The recording is controlled by the Record Processed function.
Before you start data recording, make sure that you have defined where to store the files. If you wish to save your recorded data on an external hard disk, make sure that it is connected to the computer.
Before you start recording, you must also define which output format(s) you wish to use. To choose which processed data formats to record, select Processed Data to File. This page is located in the Output dialog box.
You can save and recall echo information using the following methods and formats:
- Screen Captures function
Select Screen Capture to make a copy of the entire display presentation. Each screen capture you make is saved in .jpg format on the Processor Unit hard disk.
- Record RAW function
Record RAW allows you to record the unprocessed echo data received by the transducer. To play back data, select Operation and then Replay mode. The Replay mode allows you to play back previously recorded data. In Replay mode the ST90 system is not able to transmit ("ping"). For this reason, the ST90 system is inactive during playback.
- Record Processed function
Use Record Processed on the Operation menu to record processed data. This is only an export format. Processed data files can not be played back on the ST90 system.
Note:This is an optional function. In order to use this functionality, a dedicated software license is required. Contact you local dealer for more information.
The data files will normally become very large. If you wish to record large amounts of data, make sure that you have enough space on your hard disk. Unless your computer is equipped with a very large disk, we recommend that you save the data to an external storage device.
Procedure
- Make sure that the Record Processed function is available.
If the Record Processed function is unavailable, it is most likely because you have forgotten to specify an output format. Use Processed Data to File to define which processed data formats to save, and where to place the files. This page is located in the Output dialog box.
- To start data recording, open the Record
Processed button, and select On.
Alternatively, simply select the red circle on the right side of the button.
- To stop recording, open the Record Processed button, and select Off.
Alternatively, select the black rectangle on the left side of the button to stop the recording.
