Defining the visual information in the sonar views
Creating a visual presentation of your vessel’s previous movements
In order to maintain a visual presentation of your vessel’s previous movements, you can draw these with a line. This line is drawn after the vessel symbol in the sonar views, and visualizes your past movements. We refer to this line as the History Line.

  - Selecting true or relative motion behaviour in the views
    In selected views you can control how the vessel symbol shall "behave" in the presentation. The way the vessel moves in the presentation can be chosen either true or relative.
  - Placing data from a sea current sensor in the sonar view
    A current sensor can be connected to the ST90 system. This can for example be an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP). The information from this sensor is presented in the applicable views.
  - Adding markers for external objects to the echo presentation
    Position information from external objects such as buoys, fish aggregating devices and other similar items can be imported into the ST90 system. The external objects are shown as hexagonal markers in the echo presentation.
  - Creating a visual presentation of your vessel’s previous movements
    In order to maintain a visual presentation of your vessel’s previous movements, you can draw these with a line. This line is drawn after the vessel symbol in the sonar views, and visualizes your past movements. We refer to this line as the History Line.

Technical specifications
The technical specifications summarize the main functional and operational characteristics of the ST90 system. They also provide information related to power requirements, physical properties and environmental conditions.
Datagram formats
The ST90 system can send and receive information to and from several different peripherals. All transmissions take place as datagrams with data sentences. Each datagram has a defined format and length.

Creating a visual presentation of your vessel’s previous movements

In order to maintain a visual presentation of your vessel’s previous movements, you can draw these with a line. This line is drawn after the vessel symbol in the sonar views, and visualizes your past movements. We refer to this line as the History Line.

The history line shows you the historic movements of your own ship. The line is drawn after the vessel symbol. When the history line is active, the length (in minutes) of the line can be defined.

Procedure

Open the Display menu.
Select Display Options.
Observe that the Display Options dialog box opens. This dialog box contains a number of pages selected from the menu on the left side.
Select Own Ship to open the page.
Set History Line Length to a value that meets your preferences.
Other options are:
- Select Clear History Line to delete the current line.
- Set History Line Length to 0 (zero) to disable the history line.

The Minute Markers function adds markers to the history line. These markers indicate how far you have sailed in the last few minutes. The minute markers are shown as small circles on the history line.

Open the Display menu.
Select Visual Objects to open the menu.
Set Minute Markers to On.
