Exporting technical information
Exporting technical information from the ST90 system to a hard disk or USB flash drive is often useful. Both during normal use, and perhaps preferably during software and hardware troubleshooting, it can be helpful to share information.

  - Exporting target markers
    Under normal use, the ST90 system presents several different echoes simultaneously. Some of these are clearly more interesting than others. It can be a challenging task to tell these echoes apart. It can also be hard to keep track of the different echoes as both echoes and your own vessel move. To ease the identification of these echoes you can use markers. Each marker is identified with its geographical location. This marker location can be very useful for other instruments. For example, you can export this information to a chart plotter.
  - Exporting sensor data to a peripheral system
    Information from various sensors provided as input to the ST90 system can also be useful for other systems on board. The ST90 system allows you to export the same sensor data that was originally imported. This functionality permits you to reuse the sensor data on other systems. Use the Relay Output functionality to set up and control the sensor data export.

Technical specifications
The technical specifications summarize the main functional and operational characteristics of the ST90 system. They also provide information related to power requirements, physical properties and environmental conditions.
Datagram formats
The ST90 system can send and receive information to and from several different peripherals. All transmissions take place as datagrams with data sentences. Each datagram has a defined format and length.

Exporting technical information

Exporting technical information from the ST90 system to a hard disk or USB flash drive is often useful. Both during normal use, and perhaps preferably during software and hardware troubleshooting, it can be helpful to share information.

It is assumed that you are familiar with the Microsoft^® operating system utilities for file handling.

You need a data storage device. This is typically a large capacity USB flash drive or a small portable hard disk. You can also connect the computer to a network, and copy the files to a server.

The Export dialog box allows you to export user settings, configuration files, message logs and information mainly related to hardware and software troubleshooting. You are provided with a list of file types to export. You must specify where these files shall be saved.

Procedure

Insert the USB flash drive.
Open the Setup menu.
Select Export to open the dialog box.
Select the information you wish to export.
The total size of the selected files is shown below the list.
Select Browse to locate the desired folder.
You can also type the folder name. If you do not have a computer keyboard connected to your ST90 system, select the Keyboard button to open an on-screen keyboard.
Select Save to start the data export.
